This location used to be called "Calda do Bispo" (named by Quevedo Cardinal).
The Concello of Ourense has developed an area that has become a reference point for one of the most popular thermal spas in the country.

Chavasqueira Spas

This thermal center, which has been designed with Japanese inspiration, is equipped with three thermal pools outdoors. Its entrance has a Japanese Zen temple atmosphere constructed entirely in wood. The waters pour in through the granite stone, which were constructed at the beginning of the XIX century. Presently the front part is designed like Templarium formation.

Chavasqueira’s natural watering holes.

This area is totally outside along side the Miño River. It’s a location that is surrounded by granite rocks that helps pool the river water and thermal water together forming a totally natural flow of thermal water for your pleasure.

Characteristics of the thermal water

Composition: alkaline, bicarbonatado-sódicas, fluoradas and litínicas, mineralización.

Volume: 5 l/seg.

Temperature: 64º C entering the spa /43º C inside the pool.

Relieves or cures: joint pain, infections of the skin
